Spain !!!!!!!

Rylee left a few days before us and after one delay, she finally made it to her sister.

We had a warm welcome at the airport in Spain. 

The first day was spent talking with her family and telling them many stories of Irene's time in America

On day 2 we woke up to a yummy breakfast and then headed to their beach house in Valencia: 

On day 3 we walked 8 miles around the city of Peniscola. It was absolutely the most stunning place I have ever seen. 

 On day 4 we headed back to their family home for just a chill night.

On day 5 we woke up early and met Irene's grandfather, Juani for breakfast and then headed to catch a train to Madrid.  This city and all the architecture is so beautiful!

 

On day 6 Irene's parents went back to work so we all loaded up and headed to Faunia (zoo). This was such a fun thing to visit in Spain. Everything looked so realistic and we had a great day. 

 

On day 7 we visited Irene's former school (and the place her parents work), went to the mall, caught up and had lunch with a former exchange student that Rylee grew to love, and then ended the night with a big family barbecue with SO much food. 

We had the best trip visiting Spain for the first time. Her family made us feel so welcome and Irene planned us the perfect one week trip! I can't wait to go back!
