When one sport ends another begins.... Baseball Season

Tucker and his junior high baseball team has had two pre-season games the past two weekends.  He has started off on the right foot as he has hit a home run in both of the games!!!  I am super proud of him and excited for this season!

The Good News That Made Our Day Better

Rylee Kate has worked so hard to get better at the game of basketball.  This past weekend she had the opportunity to try out for an 8th grade team (she is in 7th), McMinn County Fire. She did really well at tryouts, but she was a year younger and there were a lot of great players trying out.  I didn't want to get her hopes up, but I was really impressed with her play and she fit in well with those girls.  Last night- after an eventful day... We got the text we had been waiting on for two days.

To say Rylee was excited was an understatement.  I cannot wait for her to be a part of this team and this great coach. I am expecting GREAT things!

A day I hope I forget

What started out like a nice surprise day off from school (flooding) ended up a little more stressful than I would have liked. To make this story short Tucker, Kai, and Jayden were going to the woods to shoot a bird, mud got in the end of the barrel, barrel exploded and some of the metal came back and hit Kai in the hand and Tucker in the leg.  Thankfully their angels were working overtime and both boys are ok.  Very shook but ok.  Tuck ended up with 5 stitches in the leg and Kai had a small place on his hand, but all in all everyone is just fine. So thankful for Brandi for taking such good care of him!

Semi Final Game of Sectionals

Well flooding rained our semi final game out against Chuckey Drake for Thursday so it was rescheduled for Saturday.  We came out kind of flat and could never get it going.  We made a few runs towards the end, but we just ran out of time. Just like that Tucker's 8th grade season came to an end. I am so proud of him and this entire team.  They had a great run and finished the season with a 23-3 record (the best in school history) and advanced further than any other Sweetwater Junior High Team ever has.  That is something to be quite proud of.

2nd Round of Sectional Play

Second Round of sectional play was Sweetwater vs. Northview Academy. The Wildcats won with a score of 49-33. Onto the semi- finals!!!

1st Round of sectionals vs. Unicoi County

First round of sectional play began Saturday night 1/1/2020 at 8pm.  It was not a great showing by the Jr. Wildcats, actually probably the worst game we have played this season, but after a really slow start we finally pulled away and got a W.  Tucker had a good defensive game and hit two 3's and sank a couple of free throws.
