Happy 17th Birthday, Tuck!

District tournament is here so no time to celebrate so we did the best we could... Breakfast for dinner then cupcakes and then cupcakes round 2. Love my boy, but sure wish time would slow down.

Tucker,

Seventeen years of having you around have been such a joy.  This is your last birthday we will celebrate before you are officially an adult.  I thought raising, teaching, and guiding a toddler was hard, but your teenage years have definitely been the hardest.  Not so much on your part but mine. Learning to let go and trust.

First off, I want to tell you I love you. You will never know how strong a love is between a Mom and a son. You were the first to make me a Mom and we have a bond like no other.

Secondly, I am sorry. I know at times I have not been the best Mom and I know sometimes I have been hard on you. I am sorry that I stay on you to pick up your stuff or keep your room clean. I am sorry I have to know where you are at all times and when you'll be home and almost always wait up on you until you have arrived safely at home. You see you have passed me in size years ago but, you'll always be my little boy (who needs his Momma).

Lastly, thank you. You were my first and I have tried my hardest to be the perfect Mom and I have failed at that miserably.  I am so thankful that you look past my mistakes and always find a way to show me you still love me. Also, thanks for letting me experience all the first of being a Mom with you. Ha!

Tucker, this world is a scary place filled with lots of bad and a little good. If I could wrap you in a bubble and keep you safe with me forever  I would. However, I know that would be your biggest nightmare. So continue to explore, make good choices (as they will be a part of who you are forever), have a BIG heart for others, be understanding of your Mom, and keep hitting dingers. I love you Buddy!

Love,

Mom
