Tucker turns 18

Hard to celebrate when you are in the middle of baseball district tournament so we had last minute dinner with family.

Tucker,

Today is a big day, you turn 18.  This day, years ago when you were born, felt like forever away. Today, you are no longer a child, but a man. It's so hard to wrap my mind around that, given just a few days ago you were that little boy running up to hug me, talking to me in that little squeaky voice, and changing dress up clothes a hundred times a day.  The moment you were born you took my breath away and I was immediately so proud to be your Mom. Funny how some things never change... I'm still proud to be your Mom.

Parenting you has been a ride of a lifetime. I've worried about so many things, if I was doing what was best for you, did I teach you everything I was suppose to? Did I pray for you enough? Hug you enough? Tell you how proud I am of you enough? Discipline or say no to you enough? Take you on enough adventures? I worry about these things. But the reality is, that when I look up to you, I see a young man who I am very proud of. I see a man of God. A man who seeks God's guidance in all areas of his life. A man who is humble, compassionate, full of courage, loyal, kind hearted, giving, and loving. I always see those things in you. I know motherhood doesn't stop here. I will continue to be an ear when you need one, a shoulder to lean on and a powerful source of prayer for you. I am always praying for you, Tuck. You are entering a time of your life where you will begin making some of the most important decisions of your life. I pray you always seek Him for guidance. He will lead you right where He wants you to be and have you doing exactly what He wants you to do. I want to leave you with this verse... Proverbs 3:6 Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not unto your own understanding; in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

I challenge you to cling to this verse in EVERY area of your life. I love you more than life, Tuck and Happy 18th Birthday!

Love,

Mom
