What a weekend and the start of a new week...

Well, where to begin... This past weekend did not go as planned or as hoped for. My brother, Jay has been trying to get down here one weekend to repair a crack we have in our ceiling. He called me earlier last week and said he would be here this past weekend. He explained we would need to move all furniture out of the living room, cover all window and doors. We were prepared to live in a mess for a couple of days. We did get the TV hooked up in the dining room and moved our couch in to there but all the other living room furniture was all over the house. He came Friday night to prep his work area. He left, we put Rylee to bed and Tucker decided to lay down with me about 10:00. At about 11:00, I heard a noise and sat straight up in bed to find Tucker sick and I mean SICK. Jeremy and I were up with him most of the night and by the next morning he still could not hold anything down so we set off to the doctor. Thankfully, they gave him a shot, he came home and slept and woke up feeling much better. Tucker had to miss his 2nd basketball game, but was so sick he didn't care. In the meantime, Jay and Dad worked most of the day on our ceiling and actually almost completed it. We stayed at home Sunday so we wouldn't spread any germs at church and all was well. Jay came and finished our ceiling. Mom and Dad came up and helped up clean the entire house, move our furniture back, and simply get things back in order before another busy work week. We would have never got it all done without them. I decided to stay home with the kids Monday and give Tucker 1 more day to recover and get back on his feet. Rylee and I set off to bed about 10:30 Monday night and Jeremy came in the room a little later and picked her up to take her to her bed and lo and behold..... She got sick! All over him! If you know how Jeremy feels about stomach viruses you are thinking right about now that he is about to die. He took it like a trooper, I mean "real" dad! We were both up most of the night, but by morning she was doing quite a bit better. There you have it my weekend and the beginning to a STINKY week!

Thanks again to Jay for repairing our ceiling and to Mom and Dad for all your help cleaning and getting the house back in order. Oh and Debbie for the potato soup Saturday! One more thing I want to always remember was something Rylee asked me, "Mom, when will I get a crack between my boobies." After choking on my drink I replied. "Rylee that will be when you get much older or if your like your Mommy, NEVER!" So here's to a better rest of the week :)

The finished project
Jeremy and Tucker went to Jeremy's game on Tuesday night, but I stayed home with Ry who is recovering. We are tired of being stuck in the house so we got a little creative. We practiced writing our ABC's and shapes in rice, painted, played with play dough, played Gassy Gus, and watched a little more TV.

Fancy Rylee's 4th Birthday

Just so happens we were out of school on Rylee's birthday for Martin Luther King Day. She and I spent some quality time together grocery shopping and baking and decorating cupcakes. Just so happens Doo and Gramps stop by to see her and they got to enjoy a birthday cupcake. YUM!

Happy 4th Birthday Rylee Kate!

Today, January 17, 2011 is a bittersweet day. This day 4 years ago, you my baby girl came into this world and I held you for the first time. Rylee, it was a day that I had waited on for a long time. I remember them telling me how perfect you were. The day all the Children’s nurses and doctors left the operating room and headed back to the Children’s NICU empty handed. A day I will never forget!!! You brought so much joy to my life and still do. I can’t imagine life without you. You are so much like me and I am not sure that is a good thing. You are so head strong and determined to do whatever you have your mind set to do. You are full of life and never shut up!!! You are sweet, moody, and beautiful all wrapped into one. You are the “Apple of my Eye” and my “Best Friend.” I love you so much and hope your 4th birthday is all you wanted it to be.

Love, Mommy

Rylee,

As I look back over the last four years, I am reminded of many great memories. I remember taking you to get your 1st birthday pictures and watching you eating the cake. It was all over your face and you were so happy! As I look back I also see my cute little girl in pig-tails and the look on your face when you saw the castle at Disney World for the first time and how you were scared of all the characters. I remember you hugging and kissing me and saying, “I love you Jake, now daddy you say I love you Gia”! I want you to know that as much as I love thinking back on the memories of the last four years I can’t help but think of the future that I will have with my little girl. I look forward to the day that you ask Jesus to come into you heart and be your Lord and Savior. I look forward to watching you cheer and listening to you tell me what you learned at school during the day. I also look forward to many more times of you crawling in my lap and telling me you love me!

I hope that your 4th Birthday was everything that you hoped it would be! Full of family, friends, and happiness. I love you more than you will ever know. I pray that God will watch over you and protect you. I am so thankful that He chose you to always be my Little Girl!

Love,

Daddy
