Quarantine Week 1

Well since the Covid-19 has entered this area, we have stayed a the house. The kids have enjoyed the outdoors, riding the golf cart, hunting birds and squirrels, drawing contest, fire, movies, hot tub, and a little school work. I hate it takes something like this for our lives to slow down a little and enjoy each other.

2019-20 Basketball Banquet is in the Books

Yesterday we celebrated both kids for a great year of basketball.  I can't believe Tucker's junior high basketball days have came to an end.
Rylee Kate's year was not one we prefer to remember, but I think she learned more this year than she will ever learn in her lifetime and not about basketball.  Her team finished the year 10-10. This season was filled with lots of adversity and I feel like she handled as well as any 12 year old would.  After the team lost the starting point guard, Rylee was asked to quickly move from starting 2 guard position to the point guard role.  She made mistakes, she wasn't perfect, but she always gave it her all.  She also faced lots of challenges off the court.  Moving into a new school in middle school isn't easy, especially for a girl.  She never has been truly accepted, but through it all I pray she has learned how to treat others as Christ would want her to.  She finished the year not a huge scorer , but she had very few turnovers this season and had tons of assist.
Tucker's team finished the season 23-2.  To say they were so much fun to watch is an understatement. This team went further than any other SJHS basketball team ever has.  They finished with the best record in Jr. Cat history.  The were one game away from Region Championship.  They were fun!  Tucker became a great three point shooter this year.  He finally stepped up his defensive game as well.  He finished the season hitting 52 three pointers.  He had 4 in the pre-season, 35 in the regular season and 13 in the post season ( threes in three games alone of the district tourney)
