Sophomore Season- Baseball is Underway

My boy is back at it... doing what he loves.
Started off the season beating Midway 9-2

Getting the W against Sequoyah 12-8

Won against LC in extra innings 10-3

Got another WIN at Kingston 12-3

We got the sweep... after 9 long endings

Tucker pitched a 3 inning no hitter tonight against Midway and he went 3/3 (one on base by error). Most importantly we finished in 5 innings with the score 10-0 Wildcats!

Friday night the Wildcats took on cross county rival the Sequoyah Chiefs. We got another win by the score of 15-5. I didn't get many pics since I had to leave a little early to get Ry to her AAU game...
Not the best showing last night, but a win is a win. Tellico 6 Sweetwater 8

Closing out March and the first half of this baseball season with a record of 9-0, beating the Tellico Bears 8-3 at home.  Keep it going Wildcats!!!

Well no pictures (we sat too far away), but the Wildcats took their first loss to McMinn Central.  We are a much better team than we played. Lost 7-2

No pictures because it was rainy and yucky out, but thankfully we redeemed ourselves and beat McMinn Central 10-2.

We are playing in a tournament this week in Knoxville. We lost our first game 13-2 against a good Catholic team.

Played Anderson County in the second game of the tourney and won 7-5 in 5 innings.  Too cold for pics.

Played our last game in the tournament this weekend in 40 degrees and scattered rain. It was cold....
We lost 10-2 against a good Pigeon Forge team with an AMAZING pitcher. He pitched close to 90mph. In Tucker's words after the the game, "When I was up to bat, I never seen it coming."
I am getting lazy on taking pictures, but the weather makes it really hard.  We played the Greenback Cherokees last night and won 14-3 in 5 innings.  Keep it rolling, BIG BLUE!

On Thursday we played ranked Alcoa Tornadoes.  Game was 1-0 until bottom of 7th when they hit a 2 run homer. We lost 2-1.

We had our first district match-up against Meigs County Tigers last night.  There wasn't many hits and the score was 1-1 most of game.  Our team made some good defensive stops, Tucker got a double (ended up a triple with error) and ended up being the winning run.  We play Meigs again tonight in hopes to sweep them.

What a game! We made lots of errors and at times didn't hit the ball well, but we came out on top sweeping Meigs this series with a score of 10-9.

Alcoa canceled on us last minute, but thankfully we picked up a game with Carter.  We had the bats going and played some solid defense to get the WIN over Carter 9-5. Next up is Loudon...

We played Loudon at Loudon Monday night. We knew we needed to win at least one of these games to take first place in the district.  To say I am proud of these boys and their grit is an understatement. They get down, but you can't count them out.  The battled back and got the WIN 9-5 and of course sealed 1st place seat for the district tournament.

We had to play Loudon again on Tuesday. The game meant nothing for us but it did them and they sure played like it.  They beat us 11-3. Hopefully, we bounce back Thursday and get our bats going again.

Well we headed to Polk County and came out with a loss 12-1.  Definitely not our best showing, but we had to pitch off (to save arms) and they pitched their ace.

Came back on Friday night to play a 3A team, William Blount. We defeated them 14-9. Tucker hit one off the top of the fence... so close. Keep fighting Wildcats!

Senior night against Maryville Christian and our Wildcats didn't disappoint.  They won 12-2 before the game got called. Tucker had a great game going 3/3 and hitting two off the fence.  We also found out yesterday that he was named to the 3-2A All District Team.

Our original game against Notre Dame was cancelled but we got a game last minute with Boyd Buchanan.  The game sure didn't start out as planned.  We could NOT get our bats going and found ourselves in a hole, down 6-0 before we finally scored 2 runs in the 5th inning.  My boy came up to hit with bases loaded and what do you know.... GRAND SLAM!!!! He has hit three against the fence in the last week, but finally made it happen tonight. To say I am proud of him is an understatement. Fast forward an inning and Kai hit one over left field fence. We ended up winning in extra innings by 2.  You can never county these boys out. They always play with so much grit!!! Bring on the district tourney!

We ended up first place in the district to that meant we got a bye and home field advantage throughout the tournament.  Our first game we faced Meigs and won 14-2. We came out hitting like we were ready to conquer the world.

Next up was Loudon... Well we didn't show up on either side and lost 11-1. Score wouldn't have been so bad, but trying to save arms for the next night.

Well, we are again playing Kingston to stay alive and have a shot in region play.  We came out hot then fizzled out, but enough to take a 7-4 WIN against the Yellow Jackets.  We will now face Loudon again at home (have to beat them twice to win the district) but we are headed to the Region Tournament at the least. Let's Go Wildcats!

A loooong night at the ball field. We had to beat Loudon twice to win the district tournament. They started off the night by recognized the all district team. We won the first game 7-6 and my boy got him another home run.  The second game didn't end the way we wanted, but they played so hard and left it all on the field. We head to regions Monday night.
