Rylee Basketball- Sophomore Season

 Rylee's sophomore season is off!

Jamboree- Beat Sweetwater Ry had 9 points (three 3's)

My girl can't do anything if she isn't going all out! I get a text from Ry that morning saying she has a migraine. She goes to the nurse shortly after to take her new migraine meds and lo and behold she has an allergic reaction to the meds. Thankfully the nurse took really good care of her and watched her til I could get her to the ER. We spent a couple hours there before being released and sent home. The Benadryl kicked her tail, but thankfully they played the last quarter of the jamboree so it had time to wear off.

Hall of Fame against Wartburg (lost). Rylee had 11 points (two 3's)

Hall of Fame against Anderson County

We have lost 2 more since the Anderson County game.  Sequoyah we lost by 4 while LC game we ended up losing by 10 after fouling at the end.  We took about 12 days off from games and kind of lost our momentum. These girls are fighters and never quit so we will bounce back.

Lost last Friday to the team across the bridge. Not the best shooting night for our girls and too many turnovers to win, but it was a pretty close game all night.

Played Carter last night and these girls played an awesome game! The did lots of things right. My girl hit 3 three's and was 6/7 from free throw line and racked up a few steals on defense too. I am so proud of how she played.

Played county rival Greenback last week. Ry had the game of her life! She went 7/8 from three point line. Yes 7 three pointers! We made lots of jokes how she beat mine and Tucker's record of 6 three pointers in a game. She ended the game with 27 points but most importantly her team got a W!

Monday night we took on Midway. It was a much quieter night for Ry on offense, only hitting one three and a free throw. She finished the game with four points, but had a huge rebound and got fouled with 2.8 seconds remaining. She went to the line  and missed the first one, coach called time out to ice her but she sank the second free throw to win the game! These girls are on FIRE!!!! They have finally found ways to win this season and I couldn't be more proud!
We played Midway again last week and won. Rylee scored 20 points and hit 5 threes. Last night, we beat #18 Yellow Jackets from Kingston. Rylee hit three 3 pointers at a clutch time and we won with last minute free throws!!!

Seem we are so close but just can't make shots to win a game. The girls played a tough LC team and it was a close game most of the night, but we couldn't take care of the mall or make shots to pull out a win.  They played hard til the end!

My girl received great recognition the other day and to say I am proud is an understatement. Ry was voted on but district coaches as All District Honorable Mention Team. Not too shabby for a sophomore.  Anxious to get her training as soon as season ends.

Ry's sophomore season came to a heartbreaking end Monday night against Tellico. She had a very successful season and it goes to show that hard work, strong work ethic and a coaches high expectations pay off.  Her coaches have pushed her to be better every practice and every game and it's not been easy. She's never been asked to work this hard, day in and day out and she's never been mentally challenged like she has been this season, but seeing the results I am pretty sure she gets it. This girl is certainly blessed with great teammates, hardworking coaches, and the best cheering section ever! I can't wait to see what this off season brings!
