Last Saturday evening my dad and I took the kids to see where Doc was raised. The kids enjoyed hearing a lot of stories about their grandfather that they love dearly. I have many memories as a kid visiting my great grandmothers. I remember getting peacock feathers, exploring caves, hearing her cuss(I thought Fart Blossom was a cuss word), and she and I planting weeping willow trees in the creek. As Doc is getting closer to a major milestone in his life I thought I would capture a few pictures of a place that means a lot to him.

An evening with friends...
So Tucker spent the evening with the Gray's and they stayed and visited a while when they brought him home. We had lots of laughs and some good talk. Thanks Gray's for letting Tucker join your family at Chuck E Cheese!
As you can tell they ran out of football helmets and had to improvise with bicycle and Swat team helmets.

Goodbye to cast #2
Rylee got her cast off today. I told Jeremy tonight that we are finally cast FREE after 2 1/2 months of cast. Doosie took her and said she was one brave little girl. She said Rylee acted so "giddy" after it was all over. I can just imagine! The palm of her hand was a little blistered from the cast, but other than that it looked pretty good. We are so happy that this "cast" thing we had going on is over and pray we don't have to ever have anymore, but on the other hand we are so thankful that both accidents were fixable with just a simple cast. God is good!
Look what she can do without her cast!
Tucker's new doo!
Tucker has wanted a mohawk for years, but of course that is not going to happen. I took the kids to get their haircuts and Dana said why don't I just fix it like a frohawk so that is what we did and still do each morning. We sent his daddy a picture of his new hairdo and he about died. He thought it was cut like that. On our way home he said, Mom I love this . The indians had mohawks too."

Rylee's first day of pre-k
Rylee heading to pre-k
This was a sign hanging in her classroom.
This was a sign hanging in her classroom.
I must say it was much harder than I thought it would be. I had a VERY rough morning leaving her in pre-k. I am just not ready for her to grow up.
Tucker told her while we were walking into the school that," she had to follow directions, do what the teacher says, and Rylee don't talk too much." We went to my classroom for a minute and then headed towards pre- k and as we were walking down the hall and Rylee was fidgeting with a string on her backpack she said, Mommy I am mot nervous, I am not nervous." (and she still can't pronounce her r's. I reassured her she was going to do fine. Even though I wanted to say well let's go back home and you can stay with Doo.

Debit or Credit?
Rylee just walked over to me while I was on the computer and said, "Yes I would like to sign my son "Tucker" up for baseball. I said sure Mam. She continued by handing a plastic card "pretend debit card" and asked if I took credit or debit." I smiled and said either will be fine. She said, " I love credit and debit . It will buy anything." I love that girl!
Am I dreaming?
As I settle down for the night I can't help but think that this can't be real. I must be dreaming. I am not packing 2 lunches for school and I for sure didn't just lay out clothes for both my kiddos. Well, I sadly just did both of those things. Not only will I be waking up Tucker in the morning for school, but Rylee will start pre-k tomorrow. YES, tomorrow... Where has the time gone? She was just born and now she is starting a new chapter of her life. Selfishly I want to keep her small, but know I must suck it up and go on. So in the morning at 8AM I will have just dropped her off in her classroom and will be walking the hall back to my classroom while fighting back tears. Please say a prayer for me:(

Pre-k Home Visit
Rylee had her pre-k home visit today from Ms. Patsi, Ms.Angie, and Ms.Pat. She is looking forward to starting school. Tonight, at dinner she taught herself to subtract using her chicken fries. She ran in the kitchen to tell me that if she had 3 chicken fries and took 1 away she would have 2. I said Rylee you don't even need to go to pre-k and she almost cried. She is so excited. All her teachers seemed excited to get to know her as well. I tried to tell them she is NOTHING like Tucker, but they won't listen!!!

Do you see what I see?
Two of the most precious gifts I have ever received!
I went upstairs and found Tucker fast asleep in bed with Rylee and she had taken her gown off so she could be like her brother. PRICELESS!!!!
Camping July 2011
We went camping for a week in July and I am just now getting around to posting about our week. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time together with our family. We swam, tubed, floated, went to Cades Cove, ate, and most importantly made more memories to last a lifetime.
